9. United Nations warns against Racial Discrimination in the United States

StraightUpWide.jpg

In this episode, we read a recent statement on racial discrimination in the United States published by the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD). This statement was published in the weeks following the fatal racial protests in Charlottesville, VA. The statement was published based on CERD's Early Warning and Urgent Action Procedure under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. Dr. Campbell reads the Early Warning and Urgent Action Procedure, followed by the statement on Charlottesville, and finally Articles 1-15 of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. Articles 16-25 will be read next week.

Read by Dr. Newton Campbell (Host of Ad Astra, StraightUp)
